The WPA document Ship Registers Enrollments Providence RI lists the 91.6' two-masted steam yacht Ava of Providence as built in Providence in 1892 by D. D. Almy, master carpenter. Its owners in 1892 were Alonzo Flint and George H. Flint of Providence. Its master in 1892 was Samuel Gladding of Bristol, and in 1893 James P. Rich of Providence.

The 1897 and 1900 issues of the Record of American and Foreign Shipping lists the 91.6' steam yacht Ava hailing from New York that was built in 1892 in Providence, RI and owned in 1897 by John H. Gourlie.
