Dorothy II was a 30' J & M, fin keel built for Harry Payne Whitney by the Herreshoff Manufacturing Co. Its professional captain was Capt. Anderson. According to the August 1896 issue of Outing magazine, Dorothy II was owned by H. P. Whitney.
