Musme was a J & M built by Herreshoff Manufacturing Co. in 1896. According to the August 1896 issue of Outing magazine, Musme was owned by J. M. Macdonough. According to the September 1897 issue of Outing magazine, Musme was a 30' class sloop.Photo 121a shows the 31st annual regatta of the Atlantic Yacht Club. "At 12:12, to a one gun start, the thirty footers were sent away and it was generally conceded by all the yachtsmen present that it was the prettiest start any of them had ever see. Just before the signal the pretty little flyers glided up to the mar and hung there, luffing occasionally to keep from crossing ahead of time. When the signal was finally given they turned as though impelled by the same hand and dashed across, not two seconds apart." (Anon.
