Julius George writes us: "Neaera was Henry McHarg's yacht. Photo by J.S. Johnston, American Photographs and Marine Views, 494 W. 166th St. & 783 Broadway, New York. Henry K. McHarg was one of the first directors of the formation of The Stamford Yacht Club at Shippan Point in 1891."
The WPA project Ship Registers Enrollments Providence RI lists Neaera as a two-masted 71' schooner built in Boston, Mass. in 1893. Its owner was listed as Warren R. Fales of Pawtucket, RI and its master as James E. Carberry of New London, CT.
