Now Then was a 88' steam yacht built by the Herreshoff Manufacturing
Company for owner Norman L. Munroe in 1887. According to Captain Nat
Herreshoff , His Life and the Yachts He Designed by L. Francis Herreshoff,
Now Then was a departure from previous power vessels and had a wide
flat stern which terminated in a sharp point at the water line which Capt.
Nat thought was an "abomination." He never used this type of stern
again; however, it was capable of amazing speeds.
