Tom Nye writes that Trilby was built by B F. Wood yacht builder in City Island, New York in 1895. He adds:
"TRILBY - Wood / Fin Keel Sloop - ½ Rater - L.O.A.: 23'0" x L.W.L.: 15'0" x Beam: 5'6" x Draft: 4'0"
Designer: Charles Olmstead - Builder: B. F. Wood, City Island - Owner: Charles Olmstead, New York"
